2022 Licensing and Credential Guidelines

Driver Licensing

All drivers intending to compete in any USF Juniors, USF2000 or Indy Pro 2000 official on-track activity must obtain a license for that series through USAC. (Official on-track activity is defined as any series-operated test or race event.)

License applications must be completed online at www.rtilicense.com. The cost per annual driver license is $350 for all series.

Drivers who have not previously held a license for a Road to Indy series must submit a driving resume during the application process. Drivers who have previously held a Road to Indy license are not required to submit a driving resume at the time of application, but one may be requested by the series Competition Director during the application review process.

All driver license applications will be reviewed by the series Competition Director and/or series Race Director(s). Once approved by all parties, the driver will be issued his/her license. A driver’s license will also function as the driver’s annual credential.

Minor driver and crew applications may be completed online, but additional paper minor waivers must also be completed by parents at the track at the first event.

Physical Examination paperwork must be uploaded at the time of license application, or sent separately to sue@roadtoindy.net. Medical clearance must be given prior to final license approval and processing. Please note that physical exams expire 12 months from the date of issue.

An FIA license is not required nor included in a driver’s 2022 USAC license. However, USAC is able to process an FIA license for any driver that wishes to upgrade their application to include this. The cost to upgrade is $400.

Test-only licenses are available for $100. Test licenses are valid for one series test event only per year.

Annual Credentials

Team Annual Credential applications must be completed online at www.rtilicense.com.

A team may purchase an Entrant license for $350 which includes four (4) annual credentials. Additional annual credentials are available $175 each.

Single Event Credentials

For each entered car in each race event, the Entrant (team) is allotted four (4) single-event guest credentials. Unused single-event credentials may roll over to future events.

For those entered in the full season or multiple races, Entrants will be issued codes for single-event credentials upon registering. (These codes will be issued for the entirety of the races that have been entered.) Codes may be used at any event in any quantity, until all issued codes have been used. Once all codes have been used, additional single-event credentials may be purchased. Details and pricing vary per event.

The primary contact for each licensed Entrant will have access to the Single Event Credential list on www.rtilicense.com, and may upload names and contact information for their guests. Guests will receive an email or text to complete the required USAC waiver(s). Once the required paperwork has been submitted, guests will receive another email or text with a QR code. QR codes will be scanned at registration to verify that each guest is on the list and has completed the required paperwork. At such time, registration staff will issue guests their single event credentials.

Other Notes

  • Media/Photo Credentials: Requests for media or photography credentials must go through each track promoter directly.
  • Parking Passes: Parking passes will be granted per team/entered car at each event, based on quantities allotted to the series by the event promoter. These quantities may vary from event to event.
  • Specialized Parking: If any individual has a specialized parking request (i.e. motor home, handicap, etc.) the individual must contact the event promoter in advance of the event.
  • Credential Hours: Prior to an event, competitors are advised to review posted credential office hours on the series website and pass that information along to any guests expected during the event.
  • Substance Abuse Screening: Any/all credentialed persons may be subject to random drug screening at the track at any event(s) throughout the season.
