Toronto, Ontario – After scoring back-to-back runner up finishes in the previous two events of the season, Will Owen had a tough weekend at the Cooper Tires Pro Mazda Grand Prix of Toronto where he had to retire due to contact during the first race, but managed to score some points with an eighth-place finish in the second race.

A small mistake during qualifying for Race 1 cost Owen a top qualifying spot, and after starting ninth the 20-year-old got caught up in a Turn 3 crash, which forced him to retire from the race.

For the second race of the weekend Owen was eighthon the grid at the start. It was a tricky event due to damp conditions around the Toronto street course, but the Juncos driver managed to stay out of trouble and crossed the finish line in eighth.

The Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires now heads to Iowa Speedway on July 17-18.  After a successful series oval debut at Lucas Oil Raceway with a runner-up finish, Owen will look to pick momentum back up and score his first series victory.

Will Owen Driver #23 AMR / Juncos Racing:  "The weekend didn't go as I had hoped. We were okay in qualifying but missed it in one corner and ended up eighth instead of pole. Race 1 ended badly after getting run over and not being able to finish, but it was out of my control completely. We had rain for Race 2 and had a decent run finishing eighth. That's okay, but I wish I had pushed harder."
