Monterey, Calif. – Will Owen’s 2016 season of the Pro Mazda Championship presented by Cooper Tires may have started on the east coast, but the west coast will be the host of the final round of the year at the fan favorite, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The driver of the #23 AMR machine goes in to the triple header weekend fourth in the championship points standings trailing Frenchman, Nico Jamin by a mere 17 points.

Coming off his best race weekend of the season at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, the 21-year-old will be poised to attack during all three races alongside the rest of the contenders in hopes of his first win of the year. Track action for the Pro Mazda Grand Prix of Monterey Presented by Allied Building Products will begin with two practice sessions on Friday. Qualifying and race one of the weekend will be the highlights on Saturday, with the two following races going green on Sunday at 8:00 am and 2:35 pm PDT.

Will Owen Driver #23 AMR Juncos Racing

"I’m excited to be back here at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, but I’m also a little sad because it’s going to be my last race weekend of the Pro Mazda Championship and with my team, Juncos Racing. It’s been an awesome two years. I have a lot of goals this weekend, with the biggest one being to get my first win of the season. I have to do that so I will be pushing for every little bit of track that I can against the other drivers. I wont be holding back on anything.   My hope is that this weekend will be good for the series and for Juncos. We have a really strong set up for this track, so I am excited to see what we can do. Third in the championship is on the table and if all goes well I could finish even higher. My biggest goal is to get the win.”
