Spencer Pigot remains unbeaten after the opening four rounds of the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires. It perhaps wouldn’t be entirely true to say that Pigot, 20, from Orlando, Fla., carried on at Barber Motorsports Park where he left off last month in St. Petersburg, Fla., because he had to fight rather harder on this occasion, but after struggling a little during the Thursday test day, he and the Juncos Racing team rose to the challenge and delivered two more accomplished victories.

The third and fourth rounds of an extremely competitive Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires at Barber Motorsports Park proved especially challenging for Team Pelfrey’s trio of drivers, although Brazilian Pipo Derani dug deep to produce a fine drive to fourth place in Race Two to maintain his title challenge.

Rising Star Racing’s Spencer Pigot returned to the top step of the Barber Motorsports Park podium on Sunday to open the 2014 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires season with a four-peat. Rising Star Racing teammate Neil Alberico placed sixth in the Race 2 event as his rookie progression continued for the young Californian talent.

Shelby Blackstock finishes fifth and Garett Grist eighth in the first of two races this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park.

Rising Star Racing picked up right where it left off in St. Petersburg with another top Pro Mazda performance from Spencer Pigot at Barber Motorsports Park on Saturday. In a near carbon copy performance from the first Verizon IndyCar Series weekend of the year, Pigot started from the pole and never looked back to take the win in the No. 7 Doug Mockett & Company/Rising Star Racing/Vitamin-DPro App/California Scents/Juncos Racing entry.
