INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Team Pelfrey participated in the Sixth Annual Chris Griffis Memorial Mazda Road to Indy test in order to get a jump-start on testing for the 2017 season. The two-day test took place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as returning driver TJ Fischer, newcomer Joseph Burton-Harris and Pro Mazda veteran Bobby Eberle paired up with Team Pelfrey in order to prepare for next season.
Vacaville, California native TJ Fischer led the #PelfreyPower pack around the 2.439-mile, 14-turn road course as he concluded the weekend driving 155 laps and a second-place finish in session six.

“This is my sophomore year in Pro Mazda and we are working hard toward bringing home the 2017 championship,” said Fischer. “The first round of the 2017 season can’t come fast enough.”
Newcomer Burton-Harris showed strong pace throughout the weekend as he is preparing for his Pro Mazda debut season in 2017.

“I am very pleased with how our debut together went. The relationship we developed in such a short period of time resulted in huge progress throughout the weekend,” stated Burton-Harris. “Our race pace was very impressive and the overall balance made my job easy as a driver. I look forward to next year’s season in Pro Mazda and this weekend was a perfect start to the campaign.”

The rookie had four top-three finishes throughout the duration of the weekend.
Eberle, the Pro Mazda veteran from Victoria, Texas started the first day of testing positively as he was running towards the front of the field.

“This weekend was a collection of highs and lows. The first day was such a high, because I was the closest I’ve ever been to the front. It was really exciting and I had a lot of confidence,” said Eberle. “On Day 2, I suffered from a couple of car gremlins and lost a lot of track time. The guys from Team Pelfrey worked so hard and they got me back on track. It was a really great experience!”

The veteran drove 118-laps around the grand prix circuit.
