Sting Ray Juncos Announcement 2020

Indianapolis, Ind. – Juncos Racing is very pleased to announce that Sting Ray Robb will once again be piloting the No. 2 machine for the 2020 Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires season.  The Indy Pro 2000 veteran is eagerly planning to contest in the full season kicking off March 12th on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Sting Ray Robb, a native of Payette, Idaho, competed in the 2019 Indy Pro 2000 Championship with Juncos Racing.  In this highly competitive championship, Sting Ray collected eleven Top 5 Finishes, six podiums, two poles and holds the race track record at St. Petersburg and Laguna Seca.  Sting Ray’s successful season helped Juncos Racing secure their fourth Indy Pro 2000 team championship.

“My earliest memories are of wanting to drive something – anything fast – I had to be a race car driver. There is no Plan B - I was born for this – my name is Sting Ray after all!  With Juncos, Road to Indy and the amazing support of my fans, friends and family, I’m in hot pursuit of my dream.  I’m super excited to be returning to Juncos for the 2020 season.  We worked hard last year, with lots of progression throughout the season capping it off on a high note with two poles.  I’m looking forward to carrying that momentum to this season and working with the Juncos crew again.  I’m stoked to once again be racing through the streets of St. Petersburg – street races are very demanding with no room for mistakes and no forgiving corners… that must be why I love it!  The fans and crowd at St. Pete are fantastic, can’t wait to get back out there, ” Sting Ray enthusiastically stated.

Juncos returns with numerous key members of its team to once again chase the coveted Road to Indy driver and team championships.  This 18-race series provides coast-to-coast racing which opens on the Streets of St. Petersburg in Florida and concludes in September at  WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, CA.

“We are thrilled to have Sting Ray back with Juncos Racing for the 2020 season,” said Team Owner Ricardo Juncos.  “Sting Ray proved to be one of the strongest drivers among the highly competitive field last year, so we are really looking forward to carrying that momentum into this championship. The chemistry and continuity are very crucial elements in motorsports, so having Sting Ray back with the same mechanics and engineers I believe will be very helpful in being successful this season battling for the Indy Pro 2000 Championship.”
