Locust Valley, NY – With the 2017 race season mere weeks away FatBoy Racing!, while suffering through the doldrums of a dreary New York winter, decided that the team was in desperate need of: excitement, sunshine, and faster race cars. The solution to this problem? The first round of 2017 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires at The Grand Prix of St. Petersburg!

After a decade plus racing F2000 cars and an outrageously fun 2016 season competing in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda, team co-owners/drivers Brendan Puderbach and Charles Finelli will be taking the next step on the Mazda Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires. The ever unique FatBoy Racing! team has acquired a pair of Pro Mazda cars and intends to compete in all six rounds of the 2017 Championship starting with the ever-popular Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

"Big events with lots of fans, serious prize money, cars with real wings and big beefy tires, one round on a super fast oval, an opportunity to compete with drivers that will become the next generation of IndyCar stars... What else could we want? This season is going to be a riot and I can't wait. Buy the ticket, take the ride!" -Brendan Puderbach

"There are few things in life I find more enjoyable than yachting. Being a small part of the traveling circus that is IndyCar is one of them." - Charles Finelli

FatBoy Racing! Has a long history in motorsports but is a different sort of animal in the Mazda Road to Indy paddock. As career gentlemen racers, The FatBoys! have focused on having fun while competing with many young talented drivers and team members. Amazingly the team has had the privilege of seeing many of these up-and-comers go on to have impressive careers in all facets of motorsport, ranging from becoming the next generation of team support staff and media personalities to even a select few who've raced in the Indy 500. With 2017 being a transitional year, the team is looking forward to an eventful season but is also focused on the future and the introduction of the new car in 2018 and hopes to be part of the championship and the Mazda Road to Indy for many seasons to come.
