Indianapolis, Ind. – Timothe Buret scored his first career win in the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires this weekend during race number two of the Grand Prix of Indianapolis. The young Frenchman had an impressive weekend in which he finished on the podium in each of the three races, boosting him up in the championship to third with 153 points.

The Juncos Racing driver started the weekend on the right foot during race number one, which was a make-up event for the postponed race at NOLA Motorsports Park, by finishing second after taking the green flag in the fifth position.

For the second race the 20-year-old scored a commanding pole position with a lap of 1m23.873s around the IMS road course. During the start he lost the lead coming into Turn One, but quickly regained it at the braking zone of Turn Seven and never looked back. He went on to take his first ever victory in Pro Mazda after 20 dominant laps.

For the third race of the weekend Buret started from fourth and for the first half of the race kept the pressure on third place eventually forcing him into a mistake which gave him the position. A third-place finish gave him his third podium in a row and now has made him a championship contender with five eight races over five race weekends remaining in the season.

Buret and the Juncos Team now prepare for Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis on May 23 which will be his first ever time racing in an oval.

“It feels amazing to have gotten my first win in the United States here at Indianapolis. It’s a dream come true! The second race was tough, I lost a position in the first corner but then I was able to get it back and after that I held the lead and could manage the race. I’m very happy, the car was perfect the whole weekend and we come out of here with three podiums which is great for the points!”
