Toronto, Canada – Juncos Hollinger Racing’s (JHR) Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires team picked up two podiums this weekend during Rounds 14 and 15 of the L&W Supply Grand Prix of Toronto. Enaam Ahmed claimed second in Round 14, while Reece Gold took home second in Round 15.

Rounds 14 and 15 of the 2022 Indy Pro 2000 Championship took place on the 1.786-mile, 11-turn temporary street course located in downtown Toronto, Canada. On track sessions kicked off Friday morning with practice followed by qualifying for Round 14 that afternoon. Reece Gold driving the No. 55 The Ticket Clinic entry came out strong during practice finishing third quickest overall. Enaam Ahmed driving the No. 47 Clear Capital Markets car finished the session sixth.

JHR came out strong for the first qualifying session Friday afternoon, with Ahmed narrowly missing the pole to qualify second, followed by teammate Gold in third. The Indy Pro 2000 field returned to the track Saturday morning for the final round of qualifying. Gold qualified fourth and Ahmed qualified seventh.

Drivers returned to the track Saturday afternoon for Round 14. The 25-lap race saw no lead changes and few passing attempts. Ahmed, who started second, maintained his position throughout the race to claim second, his fifth podium of the season. Gold just missed the final step on the podium, to finish fourth.

Sunday concluded the weekend in Toronto with Round 15. After little action in the first round, the Indy Pro 2000 field saw more action and two cautions during the 25-laps of Round 15. Ahmed, who started seventh was involved in an incident early in the race, sending him to the pits for a new front wing. The JHR crew worked quickly and were able to get Ahmed back on track without losing a lap. Ahmed went on to finish seventh.

Gold, who started fourth, was able to avoid both incidents during the race and move up to the third position when the checkered flag came out. Gold finished third, but after a post-race penalty to the driver who finished second, Gold was moved up in the standings to finish second.

Gold maintains second in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship standings followed by Ahmed in fourth. JHR continues to lead the team Indy Pro 2000 Championship with three rounds left in the 2022 season.

“Overall, we had a good weekend at Toronto and the team earned valuable points in the championship,” said JHR Co-owner and Team Principal Ricardo Juncos. “We continue to show our strength in qualifying, and have been so close to the pole multiple times. It was amazing to have both drivers finish on the podium and I know we will be fighting for wins during the remaining races this season. Thank you to everyone for their dedication and always staying focused.”

Enaam Ahmed: “Thanks to the team for a great weekend. We came in second for the first race and during the second race we had a little incident on the first lap so we didn’t get the finish we wanted to. I damaged the car and ended up P7. Now we are heading to an oval, where we know we are stronger. Hopefully, since we have come second and third a lot, we can finally get that win!”

Reece Gold: “I ended up P2, another podium in Toronto, so I am happy with that. We couldn’t quite get the balance right throughout the weekend and I made some mistakes, but overall I am happy and we gained great points and built the lead second in points. Now we look forward to Gateway and Portland.”
